Samsung Electronics produced and marketed Samsung galaxy note 8, an 8-inch tablet computer Android-based, and belonging to the second generation of tablets of the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Its announcement was done on 23rd February 2013, and launching on 11th April 2013 in the U.S. It has been the first 8-inch tablet of Samsung which followed subsequently the release of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, its lower-ending sibling. Samsung galaxy note 8 has been released with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean which is an upgrade of Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean may be had only in certain areas as an over-the-air update, and by the medium of Samsung Skies. The inclusion of the Galaxy Note 8.0 by Samsung in the upgrade list for the Kit Kat of Android 4.4 was done in February 2014. The 4.4 update for tablets of the U.S. was announced by Samsung on 4th June, 2014. The updating of Android 4.4 included updated applications of TouchWiz, however, mostly retained original set of features of the tablet.
Samsung galaxy note 8 can be had only in WiFi, 4G/LTE & WiFi, and 3G & WiFi varieties. The storing capacity ranges between 16 Gb and 32 GB as per the model specification along with a provision of expansion through microSDXC card. It has a WXGA TFT screen measuring 8 inches, and having a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It also boasts of a front camera of 1.3 MP without flash, and a rear facing one of 5.0 MP AF. At the same time, it has the provision for recording HD videos.
The customization of interface has been done with Samsung’s TouchWiz UX software, and apps from Google which includes Google Play, Gmail and YouTube. It also facilitates access to ChatON, Group Play, S Note, S Suggest, S Voice, Smart Remote (Peel), S Translator, S Planner, Smart Stay, Multi-Window, and All Share Play.
